Branch No. 3 of the Royal Canadian Legion, Prince Edward Island, is situated at 56 Main Street in Souris. The original charter States,
In pursuance of the Authority and Powers granted by letter patent uncer the Companies Act of Canada's Executive Council, doth hereby constitute and appoint Messrs Harold C. Croucher, Lambert Cheverie, Michael Richard Cheverie, Louis Fougere, Isiah J. Horne, Alphonsus James MacDonald, Emmanuel MacDonald, Michael Francis McIntosh, Daniel Leonard O'Hanley, Arthur A. Paquet, M. Leander Paquet, George Perry, Norman Henry Richards, Frederick Stillman, Joseph Walsh and Eliel Lorenzo Paquet together with other qualified persons with them associated at Souris, P.E.I. to be a branch of the Canadian Legion of the British Empire Service league and to be known as Souris (P.E.I. No. 3) Branch under the jurisdiction of the Prince Edward Island command of the Canadian Legion and subject to the Constitution, By-Laws, Rules and Regulations of the Canadian Legion.
In witness whereof of the Dominion Executive Council have here unto set the Corporative Seal of the Legion attested by the hands of the President and Secretary at Ottawa this eighth day of April 1930.
