The Sea
Keisha L. Rose

We live by the sea
Don't you wish you were me
On calm days it is flat
Can't you just picture that

On windy days it is rough
To sail a boat, it is rough.
The waves are rolling by
They seem to reach the sky.

I live by the sea
Don't you wish you were me.

- Keisha L. Rose is a native
Prince Edward Islander,
and resides in Lakeville.
She is a student at a
Maritime Canada university.

Most area fishermen will tell you there is no life like it. Year after year these
small businesspersons set out from ports with optimism. They struggle day in
and day out to harvest the oceans with care. to supply food food for our plates.
Working in the fishery is dangerous business. Below are listed those from the
area and from away who have lost their lives at sea - also those from away who
were lost in incidents in the area.

Fisherman's Memorial in Souris

They that go down to the sea in ships,
that do business in great waters;
These see the works of the Lord,
and his wonders in the deep.
