 | Mr. E. James MacDonald was born in Rollo Bay. He was educated in Rollo Bay East. He studied at Prince of Wales College from 1920-21 and 1924-25. Mr. MacDonald taught in Gowan Brae 1921-23, Fortune Head 1923-24, South Lake 1925-28 & 1936-39, Rollo Bay East 1928-36, Chepstow 1939-40, Souris High School 1940-1955 and Souris Regional High School 1955-65. He was a firm, but fair teacher who concern solely was for the education of his students. E. James was a legendary educator in his own life time. He was fondly remembered by many of his students on his 95th. birthday with visits and many letters describing the positive impact, he had on their lives. He also farmed and was physically fit - walking almost everywhere he went. Mr. MacDonald passed away in the Souris Hospital on August 19, 2004, just five days short of his 100th. birthday. |
