Today In The Life of Eastern Kings . . . .

The photo that appears on a certain day must be taken that day. It helps show to the outside world what the weather was like. If we don't get a photo on a certain day, then none will appear on the site. We will not be stockpiling shots.

The daily photo must come from within the confines of the Souris Regional High family of schools. That includes Goose River, Fiver Houses, Forest Hill, Strathcona, Primrose and all points east. Glenfanning, St. Georges, St. Peter's Bay, Cable Head and Greenwich are considered to be outside the boundaries. We will attempt to get to each of the 58 communities at least once a year. It may be difficult by times. However there is no quota to be filled.

Suggestions and ideas are gratefully accepted. Our photographers are looking for scenery and the environment. People are not the primary focus of the Today in the life of Eastern Kings project. Community events will be posted elsewhere on this site. Our photographers reserve the right to make a statement re global, social and environmental issues.

We will accept submissions from outside photographers. It is preferable that the camera with the photos should be brought by the photographer, to the History Room, 12 Heritage Lane, in Kingsboro to be downloaded. We will accept photos by e-mail. The date stamp in the camera MUST be turned off. We reserve the right to reject any unsuitable photographs. The photo will go on-line whenever the decision is made. Once a photo goes on-line for that particular day, it will not be replaced. Quality and composition is vital.

You may right click and save the photo of the day. However if you wish to use them for anything other than personal use, we would like to hear from you first. While we hold copyright, we are willing to share. Permission will not be unreasonably withheld.

Photos will not be credited to the individual photographer, nor will we release any names of those who happen to be in a shot. We believe in respecting each individual's privacy. We will ask ahead of time, if it is acceptable to use your image on this site.

Due to space constraints, older photos at their original size are removed and placed in the flickr.com archive. Artists, historians and students may request by e-mail a photograph for a personal project. Click on the link to see the Archives.

The best photo - with the best story, may be viewed on the Photo of the Month page.

Thanks in advance for your cooperation and support.
