We do not have a guestbook. However, comments such as these have been recorded since the site was started. They mean a great deal to us. . . . thank-you

The beauty of your scenery is beyond belief. Tourists pay thousands of pounds to get lost in it for a vacation that lasts a few days, perhaps a week. You've got it all the time."
Edinburgh, Scotland

So they say the medium is the message, big woop. Your site is definitely one of those exceptional cases where the content is still king.
Charlottetown, PE

The photo of the Glen Road - I took my girlfriend out there one night after a dance, at the Parish Hall. I hit a pothole in the road and the axle broke. She wasn't overly impressed. The truck breaking down was a common occurrence - the fact that it happened in the middle of a puddle was the issue. She got her feet wet. All was forgiven for we married five years later - 38 years ago. Thanks for the memory . . .
Burnaby, B.C.

I just had a chance to look at your web page. Wonderful!!! My husband has relatives in Bothwell and we visit with them every summer. The pictures that you take are all familiar places to us. I have never seen these places in the winter time so it is nice to view them on your page. Looking at the pictures makes me wish that I was back in P.E.I. Thank-you for doing this.
Grimsby, Ontario

Your pictures are a refuge in this world spiralling downwards to economic disaster and environmental chaos. It is strange to view a good news site. Keep up the good work.
Floral, SK

This site ie very large and full of interesting material. I never knew about P.E.I. before it appeared in a google. I return every day to a place fascinating, scenic and without stress. Thanks for the daily snapshot of your part of the world.
Alabama, NY

As a Maritimer with links to Souris and "The Point" going back to 1964 and roots still there, I was delighted to be able to tap into scenes so familiar and watch winter change into spring. Looking forward to being back again this summer. Thank-you for the great photos and all the nostalgia.
Victoria, B.C.

We flew to PEI for the reason to view what we see daily on ekpei.ca. Our question. Did your photographs relate what was truly there? Yes. Were they photoshopped? No. The photographs are understated. PEI is more beautiful, if possible. ekpei.ca photos reflect part, but not all the beauty. Your sea. Your forest. The clean air. Even in rain, beauty surrounded us. Thank you to Mr. Leard and his friends.
Rouen, FR

I came across the website one day and have since browsed through it and check it each day. Just wanted to pass along congratulations to you and Susan for getting something like this up and running. I try and keep up on happenings on the Island through mom and dad, the Guardian, etc. I really enjoy the shots, they keep P.E.I. fresh in my mind even though I am far away.
Yellowknife, N.W.T.

Dropping in to peace, calm and serenity in your life. Thank-you for sharing.
Damascus, Syria

My father never visited Prince Edward Island. We put a computer in his room about a month before he died. he surfed the net looking aa pictures of places he would never visit in his earthly life. Prior to finding your photos, he never knew how much of Canada was even remotely interesting. He found your pictures about two weeks before he left us to be with God. Thank you for allowing dad an opportunity to virtually visit your town and countryside and sharing your pictures. We will continue his interest and hope to visit Canada and meet you in person some day in the future

Just read the article in today's Guardian and decided to check out your site. WOW. What a lot of work you and Susan have done on this site. It is amazing!!!!! I will be returning and forwarding the site to my family "away".
Souris, P.E.I.

I found your site at the Beijing Olympics. I am athlete and travel much in the world. I use pretty pictures to destress after training. Your site is one of the best. I do not know where P.E.I. is. I know it is beautiful. I made your site my favorite site.
Monte Carlo, Monaco

I just wanted to drop you a line to say thanks for running such a great website. I am currently at R.C.M.P. depot in Regina finishing my Fishery Officer training. I've got eight weeks left and I cannot wait to get back home. I check into the site as much as possible and each time I walk away feeling like I've just dropped in and visited God's country for a little while. Thanks again for making me feel a little closer to home.
Regina, SK

Your site is clever. Have never been to Canada. Know very little about your country. Now have an overwhelming desire to visit the Souris school district in Canada. Amazing pics, people and events. The photo essay about lobster looks delicious. Keep the colours and people reality coming.
Glebe, Australia

I look at your photos every day and continue to love the piece of PEI that you make available to everyone!
Baltimore, MD

Your website is awesome, I take a look at it every day! It doesn't matter that I see these scenes daily, you guys capture the moments that make me appreciate living here. Thank you!
Fortune Bridge, P.E.I.

I really love this photo from Bothwell!! I love the shapes in the sky, the colors, the composure of sky vs. land, and the fact that it looks like a picture you would expect to see with greenery, not snow.
Bridgetown, P.E.I.

My husband and I would like to let you know how much we love your site, with all its many pages. Thank you for all you've done and are still doing, every day, to keep the pages open and up-to-date for all of us to enjoy. We love Prince Edward Island, especially the Souris and Kingsboro areas , and hope to spend more time there when we retire. Anyway, we just wanted to say "Thanks!" to you for providing a place for those of us who love Eastern Kings to see your beautiful photos, read about events, learn about history, track the weather - and so much more. It's our way to stay "at home," even though we're far away. My husband is a teacher, and I'm a librarian, so we can't come as often as we'd like, but we stay in touch with the island by visiting your website.
Maryland, U.S.A.

I just want to tell you how much I look forward to checking your website to see what's happening on P.E.I. As a child I summered on P.E.I with my family at North Lake. I have since acquired a place in Eastern Kingsc where I spent six weeks this summer. When I'm back in New York, I can visit your website and be in PEI when ever I want-- even if only for a minute. My thanks and best regards to you and your team of volunteers who keep PEI alive for me in pictures all year round.
New York, U.S.A

I would like to thank-you for your time in this matter and complement you on the your web-site it is most interesting .We are on your site each day and enjoy the beautiful pictures that are posted it keeps us close to the beauty of the Eastern end of the Island could there be a more beautiful place .Please take Care and God Bless.
Charlottetown, P.E.I.

Just a positive comment: I am studying Naturopathic Medicine in Ontario, which is where I'll practice for a good while. I've seen a lot of Europe and been through much of Eastern Canada. I marveled at Oregon, Salt Lake City, and Maine. But my favorite place is the Fairfield shore. There is nothing more healing than the 'Up East' waters. And I've never seen a website with more soul! Wow. Thanks for a taste of home every day.
Ontario, Canada

I cry happy tears every day I drop in. I see beautiful photos. I see my friends involved in community events. There is no hassle from pop-up ads or any ads at all. My God, I miss my home. You take me away from feeling trapped. I can escape to everything that means it all to me. Every time your page comes up, I don't visit home, I am home. I feel I have transformed myself and levitated into the monitor. You are wonderful.
Airdrie, AB

I want to write you to say what an awesome site. As you know we are on a circumnavigation and are not on PEI to enjoy the eastern end . We feel that nature expresses its beauty there any time of the year. Your site allows us to experience the beauty of the area whenever we have connection speed to upload the pics. So thank you for your work and keep it up!!!!!
Whangarei, N.Z.

Since becoming a parapalegic, I have had to rely on our internet connection for what is now arm chair travel. I found your site by accident last March. It is now my home page bcause you change your content daily. Prince Edward Iisland is different from our part of the world. I never had the opportunity to visit Canada. Since you started making the videos, I feel I have known Prince Edward Island all my life.
Pensacola, Florida

The entertainment provided each day is exceptional. Waldron and Waldron's friends generously share to the world their piece of the planet. Thank you all.
Cambridge, UK

We were recently given the link to your site by a friend. We look forward to by daily visits to P.E.I. when we cannot be there.
Harrisburg, PA

We have fun trying to guess where the picture is. If we like it we tell you. It is now a consious thought to scroll down and click on the link to write you. I think your site is a conscious attempt to restore the tools of internet communication to the people themselves. We feel warm inside when one of our suggestions is acted upon.
Cranbrook, B.C.

This site about your villages is very interesting. It renews my desire to visit Canada. I enjoy scenery around every corner. You appear to enjoy a quiet pace of life.
Bristol, UK

Thank you for getting out each year nd paying attention to us in the fishery. I went through your Setting Day pictures this winter and they gave me a sense of pride of where I am from. I know it must be hard for you to do the pictures every day. Thank you Waldron for your efforts and everything you do for the folks up east
East Point, P.E.I.

An honest and fun-filled life that I wish to live is shown each day on your site. Thank you for the obvious reality reflected through your cameras. In the summer of 2007, we will visit Canada for the first time. Prince Edward Island is our destination. Curiosity, developed by your pictures prompts our exploration.
South Carolina, U.S.A.

I have had your web site bookmarked for quite some time and return frequently. Here in Calgary this morning it is -14, grey and a dusting of powder white snow! I had the strong desire to see something more breathtaking, so, I thought of your web site. As I am sure you have heard, most of us transplants miss the scenic beauty of "Our Island". Although we enjoy the Rockies and their breathtaking beauty, they only range from grey to white to grey to white. Thanks for doing such a great job in capturing the colours of the Island and sharing them with us!
Calgary, AB

I was just taking a look at the photos that you posted and I wanted to write a quick message to tell you that they are incredibly beautiful. I am so busy here, but seeing them reminds me of how beautiful it is there, and helps me relax.
Ottawa, ON

Being allowed to take the photo of the day, for Today In The Life of Eastern Kings, 27/03/07 is an unparalleld thrill. Thank you for your hospitality, your stories and sharing what is obviously one of the special places in the world.
Palo Alto, CA

Your pictures are are an inspiration every day to me. A visit to P.E.I., Canada is now on my list of things to do.
Great Lakes, IL

It's amazing the work you have done on here, it sure keeps me in contact with home. The photos are so great, and all the info so informative, keep up the great work, say hi to everyone for me, am hoping to go home this summer.
Sudbury, ON

Your photos bring tears to my eyes. I miss my Island.
Clearwater, FL

I'm a expat Islander, still get home a couple of times a year. Just want to say how much I enjoy the photos on your site. I have it bookmarked and check it most every day. I'm not from the east end (grew up in Charlottetown, summered in Keppoch), but we used to go camping on Bothwell Beach back in the day and I have very fond memories of the place. Thanks for taking the time to post the pics.
Ottawa, ON

I now live in Maine. Your site and lovely photos make me homesick. Thank you for a daily peek into the community of Eastern Kings!
Maine, USA

I do contract work. I feel I am flung all over the world. Your site grounds me. I am home each time your home page appears. Wishing you continued success.
Barcelona, Spain

I am writing for about 100 people in Ft. McMurray, Yellowknife, Calgary, Burnaby, Regina, Edmonton, Whistler, Wetasikiwin, Saskatoon, Grand Prairie, Red Deer, Banff, Lloydminster, and other places. My mother back in Souris said you do a radio Merry Christmas show. I will be still working because I work nights so would you please read this out on your show. The people out here who are Souris High grads want to pass along Merry Christmas and say thanks to Susan and Waldron Leard for their pictures. They post pictures every day of back home on our web site and it helps us with feeling home sick. The money is good and we have jobs but a lot of us want to go back home. Since there is nothing for us we have to be here but the pictures keep us in touch. One of the guys who lives about a km away asked for Christmas pictures because he can't get back to Souris this year. The parade and the Santa pageant was great to see out here. We also like seeing the lights on the houses and we have them figured out who they belong to. The basketball and midget triple AAA pictures are great. Somebody saw his brother playing. Another guy saw a picture of his father at the parade. This is helping a lot of us get through. What Susan and Waldron Leard do is a Christmas present to all of us every time we log on. We discuss your photos a lot on MSN and we look at your flicker account a lot. We also want to say merry Christmas to everyone at the high school such as Mr. MacClure, Martin and Norman, Ms. MacGregor, Mr. MacAulay, Ms. Evans Renaud, Danny, Vernon and Gary and everybody else. There are teachers that aren't there now because they retired so we want to say the same thing to Mr. Sharkey. Mr. Gaudet, and Mr. Peters. Some of us gave Mr. Peters a hard time but he did his job. There are a hell of a lot worse things than that school. A lot of us wish we could go back and do the stupid stuff we did there differently. I guess all we are trying to say is we appreciate what is back in Souris and we appreciate everybody who aren't our fathers and mothers and families too. So merry Christmas and Happy New Year to everybody back home.
Fort McMurray, AB - aired on C.B.C. Radio - December 22, 2006

Thank you so much for posting this as the day's photo; looks like an incredible challenge, but I have been trying to imagine (from here in VT) what Noel looked like on the Island
Colchester, VT

My grandmother called Prince Edward Island God's creation. Thanks for sharing the good works of the creator for my family and grandchildren. In 2007, I will fulfill my grandmother's dream for me to see the Island for myself. Your picture of the day is the impetus to make the journey to Canada.
Watford, England

My dad lived in Naufrage during his childhood. He is buried nearby. He wanted to go back to the clay. I thought it was neat finding this website.
Mattawa, ON

This site is the highlight of my day. I am so thrilled you are displaying different aspects of PEI. I am able to reach inside the screen to a quiet peaceful world, one that my city does not provide. I wonder what it would like to be able in a place such as this. I am envious.
Mississauga, ON

Your photo of the month was brilliant! "Sheepish Mists" is one of the best. I meant to write in about it and didn't, so am particularly happy it was chosen. I think some of the best photos are actually taken in inclement weather........storms on the beach etc. One doesn't need sun to make it beautiful. I am partial to black and white photography actually! Thanks as always for helping us all appreciate what we have.
Montague, P.E.I.

One thing that stands out serving as an M.P., is the diversity of our nation. I have visited P.E.I. several times in the past few years. P.E.I. is one more photogenic place, which every Canadian should appreciate. Your photo of the day shows an unique diversity each day, from such what appears to be a small region. Visiting the Souris area is a pleasant break from debate and day to day concerns.
Ottawa, ON

I am working in Alberta, solely for the money. I want to be back in Souris but I need this job. I get down about it. Then I look at your site and your photostream. I am not going to be home for Christmas. All these pictures are the best gift I could get right now. They are keeping me from going insane. Looking at all the scenery, the windmills and the people, I know that I have something to go back to. The pay cheque is good, but this place is simply not home.
in the oilpatch, AB

The charm of your photographs is their daily simplicity. I appreciate the total lack of advertising. That alone allows me to browse daily through your site, as I would a favorite novel. It is a pleasure not to be barraged by blatant commercialism.
Palo Alto, CA

I want to extend my appreciation for the photos and information on Eastern Kings. I left this area 40 years ago and it still sticks with me. I thank you for keeping these feelings intact.
Fredericton, NB

I was up in North Bay visiting my brother and he gave me your site. It is great to see home without the horrendous cost of flying everyday to do it. As my signature indicates I am living and working in Ottawa. I suspect I will be here for the duration of my work life. Good health and happiness to you and yours.
Ottawa, ON

Greetings from Calgary! We both appreciate the work you guys are putting into this site. It helps us from getting too home-sick. The daily pictures are so nice that I find myself changing my desktop every day. The articles about the area (especially sports) keep my fading memory from getting too bad. We would just like to thank you guys for all the hard work you do with this site, it is priceless to people who don't get to see it everyday.
Calgary, AB

My happiness with this site is the variety each day. I love the cows, eagles, shorelines and the farmer's fields. My senses are enhanced with each photo. It is especially important that your photographers do not cheat. Each day is different and most certainly special.
Katy, TX

Congratulations on your website!!!! The photography is awesome!! I saw it for the first time today on the recommendation of a friend who lives in Vancouver and I can't wait to tell 2 other friends about it---I didn't know I lived in such a beautiful area! Keep up the good work!!
Souris Line Road, P.E.I.

Thanks for the beautiful seascape of Rollo Bay West. I spent many a Sunday afternoon walking the sand flats of that area. Also fishing for flat fish when the tide was low. brings back many memories. Thanks again
Nanaimo, B.C.

Commercial and pop-up ad free! I spend an hour at a time back home this way. I thought I would never move back, but I realize now what I am missing. You are showing old Mousetown to me in a different and a lite light. This way of life I live in is not what I need. Two years or less, I will come home to Souris.
Mississauga, ON

I LOVE today's photo. The lady I travel with was amazed at the sight of the sun beaming through the clouds and onto the water today as we crested the hill in Rollo Bay and descended into Souris West. She says she has only seen such a thing three times in her life, and each was over the water as she entered Souris. Ironically, today you post a similar picture on the site. The waves, the sun, and the two sticks standing guard on the otherwise unspoiled sand. Such beauty is a main reason why I love PEI. Thanks for doing what you do.
Summerville, P.E.I.

This is always the first site I look for when I turn on the computer. Although we live on one of the most photogenic Islands, we take the beauty of our Island for granted. It takes a "master " photographer to really make us see what is all around us. Although we live "up west" we have visited "down east" many times through these wonderful photos. Congratulations! and keep up the good work. It is much appreciated.
Cascumpec, P.E.I.

Thank-you so-so much!
Souris, P.E.I.

Your variety of photographs shows all P.E.I. has to offer. For such a small area, you appear to have it all. Thank you everyone for sharing.
Fort William, Scotland

The top ? community site in P.E.I.? I should think so. Everything is here I am interested in or need to know. It is displayed in a non-commercial and a subtle manner. You guys are the best.
St. Petersburgh, FL

I just wanted to send you a quick e-mail about your site of all the beautiful pictures of P.E.I. I'm originally from P.E.I. but now live in Ontario and I miss it dearly. We usually go home every summer for vacation. One of my cousins sent me this website and I've been checking it out almost every day, but it really makes me home sick, but at least I could look at the pictures
Ontario

Home sweet home is what I say every day when I tune into your site. Thanks loads for all the great things you do.
San Francisco, CA

I'm an Islander (living in Montreal) who read about your site. I've been checking your site every day. As someone who had had to leave the Island to find work, I love being able to "catch a glimpse of home". It also motivates me to think of ways that I may be able to find or create and employment opportunity there so I can buy that little house by the ocean!Your photographs are beautiful and inspiring. Thanks for taking the time.
Montreal, P.Q.

We spend the summers at St. Peter's Harbour, near the lighthouse. I can't tell you how wonderful it is to check your site everyday.....a little bit of P.E.I. to tide me over. I send thanks your way every day!
Burlington, Vermont

Thanks for all the great pictures, especially Basin Head, we always spend our two week holidays there, Why leave beautiful Souris when you have everything here that we want. Keep up the great work & keep the pictures coming. We look forward to checking them out each day.
Souris, P.E.I.

A hearty congratulations on your eastern King's daily photo record! It's a marvelous idea with great shots through and through. Bouncing this link along to my mom who will be delighted to scroll through also. Whenever I finally dig my way through the paperwork here, I'd be pleased to don the chauffeur's cap for a day trip with you around the magic part of the Island.
Valleyfield, P.E.I.

My grandmother was from Tignish. I was to P.E.I. once in my life. I have never visited anywhere beyond Summerside. Now I am 74. I could use some excitement before I die and I want to go back. I hope to see for myself the places where your pictures have been taken. P.E.I. is really something else.
Akron, OH

Just wanted to say I look forward to your daily photo. It makes my day. I forward them on to our daughter in Ontario. Thanks to you and your "occupants" for showing us the beauty of the Island each day.
Brudenell, P.E.I.

Happened upon your site. Am truly enjoying your photos. I have been visiting P.E.I. yearly since the year prior to the Bridge was being built. Keep up the great job.
Rye, N.Y.

Just a note to thank you - as an Islander living away it gives me great pleasure to see her beauty every day. The excellence of your photography and your dedication to this site is certainly appreciated by those poor unfortunates like me who have the great misfortune to be living so far away from her shores.
Ontario

I'd like to let you know how my husband and I look forward to your photographs. We own a lovely piece of property in Little Sands that we dream about getting back to during our time 'away'. Looking at your photos brings us back to the Island - and we appreciate your talent and hard work keeping your website updated with new pictures which so beautifully depict the serenity (and occasional ferocity!) of the Island. Thank-you!
Rehoboth, MA

Just wanted to let you know the site is wonderful. I spent a lot of time in Souris as a child and now live in Calgary, AB. I spent a lot of time with my family in Souris and sure do miss the water. You don't realize it until you start looking at the water and beautiful sites in PEI. Again thanks
Calgary, AB

Thanks for taking all the pictures around Souris and Kings County! I visit your site almost every day. I came across your site from the recommendation of a lady who works at the Souiris town hall. Anyways keep up the good work at your site. Though I live in eastern Ontario coming to this site makes the world a little bit smaller. All the best in the new year.
Eastern Ontario

Thanks so much from all our family for all your hard work on the Communities of Eastern Kings Web site. Our children are spread all over; They, just like us, are checking in every day, all keeping in touch with this little piece of the Island they call home.
Souris West, P.E.I.

I love the frosty photo today—it seems that all of the photos are getting better and better—but this one captures something so fleeting that it is quite remarkable. Merry Christmas to you and yours…best wishes for a happy new year as well. Thanks so much for allowing me to stay connected.
Winooski, VT

Sitting here this afternoon in Charlottetown, looking out the window at snow and sleet coming down and your great pictures of Eastern Kings on your website. We used them as screen savers on our house computer and our laptop when travelling. It makes us feel at home to be able to look at the daily life in Eastern Kings. We lived in Rollo Bay for 25 years and it feels like home to us. Keep up the great work on your website, as when we travel we show people what they are missing by not living on P.E.I. With fond memories of Eastern Kings. . .
Charlottetown, P.E.I.

Thank you. Tonight Waldron is unable to be with us. Prince Edward Island is 3,000 miles from this auditorium. Waldron never takes a day for himself. Totally unselfish, his community is first and foremost in his life. Today Waldron conducted a photography clinic on behalf of his local environmental group. Later he offered a friend's father, who travelled from Denmark, to capture a photo of the day. Tonight he is with his friends at a legion in his village, gathering more material for his site. I am not making this up. This is Waldron's daily world. The Eastern Kings Meeting Place has an effect on the viewer. Meandering through the elements, offers a strong breaths of Atlantic Canadian air. This award is in the shape of an Inukshuk. My husband, from Saskatchewan, Canada, relates to this site more than any other. Inukshuk is a Native Canadian word that reflects "image of man's spirit". The Canadian Inuit people originally built manlike scuptures of stone along the shores of Canada's northern territories, as markers to lead their way. Today Inukshuks may be found across Canada, including the Eastern Kings region of Prince Edward Island. They serve as symbols to remind the wanderer of his or her dependence on one another. Prince Edward Island is Canada's smallest province. Waldron H. Leard is a living breathing patriotic Islander. The Eastern Kings Meeting Place is an on-line Inukshuk. The importance of strong relationships in sites is illustrated with the Eastern Kings Meeting Place through the environment and the people, the site represents. On behalf of Waldron, his family, his friends and supporters, I, in humility, accept this award.
