The cartoonist "Seth" has his ancestry in St. Charles. His father, John Gallant, wrote the history of his early life in
Bannock Beans and Black Tea.
Recording artist Maxine MacLeod, who was nominated for three E.C.M.A. Awards in the 1990's, has her roots here among the Gallant's of St. Charles. She attended the first few years of school in the old two-room school. At the peak of her career, she was affectionately described as the hardest working musician in Atlantic Canada.
Michael Theriault, the stage and television actor who portrayed Tommy Douglas in the C.B.C. mini-series, has his roots amongst the Doiron's of St. Charles.
