The sport of Ringette was introduced in the Souris area in the early 1980's. After a down period, it was re-introduced in 2009-10 and is seeing success. Kendra O'Brien of Souris, played with Canada's National Team in 2004-05. Others represented P.E.I. in regional and national competition. Ringette was featured at the Eastern Kings Sportsplex during the Canada Games in 1991, with Alberta, British Columbia, Manitoba and Ontario playing in Souris. Glenda Bailey, Darla Chaisson, Kirsten Chaisson, Tara Jo Chaisson, Angela Cheverie, Kelly Fogarty, Kerri Fogarty, Erin MacAulay, Heather MacAulay, Sheryl MacAulay, Andrea McNevin, Tara McNally, Kendra O'Brien, Tara O'Brien, Angela O'Keefe, Emily Perry, Marla Peters, Sheri Peters, Jolyne Sharkey, Kim Soloman and Candace Thomas all representing Prince Edward Island. |
