Baseball was introduced to Souris by American sailors in port to have their vessels resupplied. It is believed the first games were played where the Souris Consolidated School is situated today. The Bridgetown Orioles Baseball Team from 1923 to 1925 included Louis Cantelo, Lorne Wigginton, Frank Clay, Glen MacKay, Edward Aitken, Billy MacMaster, Jack Rice, Reggie MacDonald, Walter Burdett, Joe Westaway, Lufkin MacLeod and Neil Dan MacDonald who served as umpire. The Glenfanning Rovers baseball team were unable to field a team in 1923 because several of their players had gone to the United States and other places to find work, so they amalgamated with Bridgetown Orioles.  M & G Royals - 1979 Eastern Canada Intermediate AAA Champions The Souris Maroon & Gold Royals won the Eastern Canadian Intermediate AAA Fast Pitch Softball Championship in late summer 1979.
